Prayer of Saint Francis

- Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
- where there is hatred, let me sow love;
- where there is injury, pardon;
- where there is doubt, faith;
- where there is despair, hope;
- where there is darkness, light;
- and where there is sadness, joy.
- O Divine Master,
- grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
- to be understood, as to understand;
- to be loved, as to love;
- for it is in giving that we receive,
- it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
- and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
- Amen.

Help

I love this beautiful prayer and I love St. Francis. I always felt a connection with him because of our mutual connection to animals.
He also continues to inspire my peace and justice journey.
A song that I connect to this prayer and also find beautiful and nourishing is:
“Let There Be Peace On Earth”
LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH
Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on Earth,
the peace that was meant to be.
With Source as our Creator
siblingss all are we,
Let me walk with my siblings,
in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me,
To take each moment and live each momentlet this be the moment now.
With every step I take,
let this be my solemn vow,
in peace, eternally.
Let there be Peace on Earth,
and let it begin with me.
